In line with its objectives DMCT has consciously been setting up health camps in  remote and inaccessible locations over the last 25 years.

Organising a medical camp entails carrying out health checks, distribution of need based  medicines, conducting diagnostic tests and eye examinations. A typical team comprises of 5-7  doctors which includes one cardiac specialist, a gynaecologist, 3-4 general physicians and one  ophthalmologist along with paramedics and volunteers. Diagnostic equipment included a mobile  pathology lab for blood & urine tests, a portable X ray unit, an ECG machine and an optometric  facility for eye tests. Vaccination for Hepatitis B is also often carried out. A typical Camp is  conducted over 2 days and also entails another 2 days of travel / establishing the necessary  paraphernalia. Turnout over the 2 day period ranges between 1500-2000 people.
